French artist to present her works in Ashgabat
On March 16, the French Institute in Turkmenistan to host an exhibition of the painter Iris Fossier. The exhibition will feature paintings and sculptures from papier-mâché.
Iris Fossier is a French artist working mainly with inkss and gouache, through which she conveys endless harmony and contrast between black and white. Sometimes Fossier adds colors to her paintings, but they are always restrained and concise.
Animals, including exotic giraffes, elephants, rhinos, and quite familiar laying hens are the main characters of her paintings. I addition, numerous trips inspire the artist a lot.
The urban landscapes of various parts of the world painted with black ink seem to the viewer as an echo of another’s memory, blurred, but at the same time expressive and emotional.
In Ashgabat, in addition to the exhibition, Iris Fossier will hold a master class for students of the French center for creating sculptures from papier-mâché.
The exhibition of the artist will last until March 30. Admission is free.
