The 26th International Conference "Oil and Gas of Turkmenistan" will have a live link up with Dubai Expo 2020


The 26th International Conference "Oil and Gas of Turkmenistan" (OGT-2021), which Ashgabat will host on 27-28 of October, will have a live link up with major global event – Dubai Expo 2020.
Live link up will be set up for Session 4: Natural Gas and Alternative Sources of Energy – Key Resources in Transition to a Low Carbon Future. The session will be held both at the conference venue in Ashgabat and within Turkmenistan’s Dubai Expo 2020 exhibition pavilion with the attendance of the senior representatives of UAE government. It should be mentioned that, for the first time in World Expo history, every participating country has its own pavilion.

World Expo – is a unique global platform to win investment, forge agreements and promote international cooperation. Thus, it is a great opportunity for Turkmenistan to showcase its economic potential to the whole world, introduce perspective projects in various fields, including in gas and oil sphere, and get acquainted with new partners.
During the live link up, which will be moderated by Julian Bowden - Research fellow from the Oxford Institute for Energy Studies energy, CEO of TAPI Pipeline Company Limited Muhammetmyrat Amanov will give a speech on contribution of oil and gas sector to the transition to a low-carbon future in South Asian region.
Being one of the world's largest resource-producing countries, Turkmenistan takes all necessary efforts to maintain the balance between production goals and environmental protection objectives.

Turkmenistan was among the first states to officially adopt all Sustainable development goals and mainstream them into the national development plans, ratified Paris agreement on climate change. To mention, the carbon intensity of products manufactured in Turkmenistan has been decreasing in recent years.
Giving a speech on the High-Level Global Roundtable on Extractive Industries as an Engine for Sustainable Development, held online by United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres on May, 2021, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov proposed to start developing a UN Strategy for the development low-carbon energy. The Turkmen leader also initiated the creation of an international "Road Map" under the auspices of the UN for the development of hydrogen as one of the priority directions in the energy sector.
Academic Secretary of Academy of sciences of Turkmenistan Rahmanguly Esedullayev will share with scientific views and facts if hydrogen, clean and energy-sufficient can be a next-generation fuel.
