Turkmenistan is the only country, besides RF endorsing EpiVacCorona

Turkmenistan remains the first and so far the only country, besides Russia, registering Epivaccorona drug of the Vector Center. This is stated in the message of TASS. Despite the fact that the first in Russia (and in the world) Sputnik V vaccine of the Gamaleya Center of the Ministry of Healthcare has already been registered in more than 25 countries. Turkmenistan is among them.
The agency notes that the results of the first and second phases of the Epivaccorona tests are expected to be published in the near future. So far, it is known that antibodies to the coronavirus appeared in 100% of participants of the drug studies aged 18 to 60 years and in 94% of volunteers over 60 years.
The effectiveness of the Sputnik V vaccine reaches 91.6%, and the drug protects 100% from the moderate or severe form of the disease. Sputnik V is one of only three vaccines in the world with an efficacy of more than 90%.
TASS also reports that the Ministry of Healthcare of the Russian Federation has registered the third vaccine against coronavirus – CoviVac, created by the Chumakov Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
The developers note that this is the most “traditional” vaccine, created directly on the basis of the new coronavirus. Vaccination allows to simulate the natural process of the body’s fight against the virus. The virus particles in the CoviVac “are no longer able to cause any harm to the human body, but are able to help it to develop immunity”.
At the moment, about 10 million doses of Sputnik V and 80 thousand doses of Epivaccorona have been released. According to Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova, Russia plans to produce 88 million sets of doses of coronavirus vaccines, excluding CoviVac, by the end of the first half of 2021.
The price of one dose of Sputnik V and Epivaccorona, according to preliminary estimates, is almost the same – about $10. The cost of CoviVac is still unknown.
Turkmenistan plans to hold a number of international events this year, including sports competitions. In this regard, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov assigned the country’s medical authorities to register effective vaccines against coronavirus, in order to provide athletes participating in these competitions with vaccinations at their choice.
