Karl Marx is alive: The rich get richer, and the poor grow poorer

These words are very similar to Marxist propaganda and the Bolshevik calls to action in the beginning of the last century. However, these are the conclusions of modern specialists from the UN and leading economists of the world. The other day the report "On Inequality in the World" was published, the preparation of which was done by more than hundred well-known economists from different countries, led by the French expert Tom Picetti.  His has created one of the best-selling books in the world with a very familiar title - "Capital in the 21st Century." The biggest "reprimand" from economists was given to the developed countries of the world. The data collected by Picetti and his team indicate that capitalism has changed radically in 30 years, and not for the better. According to economists, capitalism today is more similar to the works of Charles Dickens: the rich get richer, the poor grow poorer, and social elevators are driven only in one direction - down. The study analyzes the growth rate of income in social groups over the past 36 years. The conclusions are as follows: since 1980, 1% of humanity received 27% of the total increase in world wealth, and only 0.001% of the world's population, or 76 thousand of the world's wealthiest people, received 4% of the increase in world wealth. At the same time, the growth of middle-class incomes has slowed and is now almost at the zero mark. If the situation does not change and the trend of impoverishment of the broad masses and the welfare of a handful of rich people continue, then in 2050 0.1% of the world's population will have the same wealth as all the middle class of the world. In other words, what we now see that the middle class can disappear, for it is likely that it will gradually join the world's poor. Yes, the leader and teacher of the world proletariat is immortal, after all. In the study, one feature attracts attention. The difference between the rich and the poor is growing most rapidly in developed countries. Economists believe that the welfare of the "golden billion" is growing at the expense of the population of developed countries, which is rapidly becoming poorer.
