Objectives of the financial and economic complex of Turkmenistan were considered at a sectoral meeting


The performance of divisions of the economic, financial and banking complex of Turkmenistan in 2020 and in January 2021 has been analyzed today at a working meeting at the Ministry of Finance and Economy of Turkmenistan.
The meeting was attended by the Deputy Prime Minister in charge of this complex, and the heads of its divisions, banks and specialized universities. The participants also outlined ways to achieve the goals set by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov before the financial and economic sector at a recent videoconference meeting, including on the digitalization of industries.
In addition, the head of state instructed to provide access for the world community to information on the basic financial and economic indicators in Turkmenistan. This will ensure the reliably of the country’s economic development indicators reflected in the documents and studies of international financial institutions.
In this regard, Chairman of the State Statistics Committee Silap Velbegov spoke about the work to improve the field of statistics, taking into account the best world practice, and by the introduction of a digital system into records management. Following the revision and generalization of the state statistical reporting forms, the number thereof was reduced, improved methods for calculating GDP and other macroeconomic indicators are being introduced, the modernization of the statistical system and methods for collection, analysis and inclusion of data in strategies and forecasts is in progress.
