Exchange trading: Turkmenistan’s exports focus on petrochemicals and textiles


The trading results of the State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan show how the country’s exports are reoriented from raw materials to processed products. During the second week of February, the amount of export contracts composed more than US$ 57.8 million and 67 million manats. Traditionally, petrochemicals are in demand – 32 foreign trade transactions and textiles – 51 transactions. In particular, representatives of the business circles of Afghanistan, the United Arab Emirates, and Scotland purchased diesel fuel, and Afghan businessmen also bought liquefied gas and A-95 gasoline. Brokers from companies of Russia, Turkey, Scotland, Pakistan, the United Arab Emirates, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan signed contracts for cotton yarn of Turkmen enterprises. Ukraine has purchased a batch of finished products – these are terry towels of different formats.
