Berdimuhamedov: GDP growth in Turkmenistan amounted to 6.2%

During a meeting of the government of Turkmenistan on Friday, President Berdimuhamedov noted the progressive development of the country in accordance with national and sectoral programs.
Despite the negative impact on the global economy of the coronavirus pandemic, in January-August of this year, the growth of the gross domestic product in Turkmenistan amounted to 6.2%.
The construction of industrial and social facilities continues, instead of the planned 30 large new buildings, almost twice as many were put into operation - 56 objects, the Turkmen people received apartments in new buildings with a total living space of about half a million square meters.

Along with preparations for the implementation of new international projects, the construction of the TAPI gas pipeline, as well as the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan power transmission line and fiber-optic communication is underway as planned.
However, the high tasks of the anniversary year, as the Turkmen leader said, still "require a lot of work."
