Secretary General of the NOC of Turkmenistan elected Vice President of the International Committee of the Children of Asia Games


At the 38th meeting of the General Assembly of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) held in Bangkok, Azat Myradov, the Secretary General of the National Olympic Committee (NOC) of Turkmenistan, was elected as OCA representative and Vice President of the International Committee of the Children of Asia Games.
Gafur Rakhimov, President of the International Boxing Association, previously held this post.
For the first time, a Vice-President of the OCA responsible for the promotion of the Children of Asia International Sports Games was elected for supervisory staff of this structure. At the event, Umid Akhmadjanov, the head of the Central Asian Football Association, was approved for this position.
“Interest in the Games in the international arena is growing every year. Consequently, the appearance at the Olympic Council of Asia of two representatives at once who will be in charge of these competitions is a great success,” Vladimir Maximov, Director General of the Children of Asia Games, said.
The President of the Olympic Council of Asia, His Excellency Sheikh Ahmad Al-Fahad Al-Sabah, was re-elected unanimously for the new term 2019-2023.
During the meeting of the General Assembly, reports on the preparation for the upcoming major international competitions were presented and other issues of the world Olympic agenda were discussed.
In the following years, several large-scale competitions are scheduled to be on the territory of Asia – 2020 Summer Olympic Games in Tokyo, 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing, China, 2022 Summer Asian Games in Hangzhou, China, and 2026 Asian Games in Nagoya, Japan.
