Representatives of Turkmenistan and Afghanistan discussed border cooperation
Representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Healthcare and Pharmaceutical Industry, as well as a number of specialized and law enforcement agencies of Turkmenistan met on Monday with authorized representatives of the Faryab province of Afghanistan, in particular, the heads of the Andkhoy, Khancharbag, Gurgan counties and the head of the Akina customs point.
The parties discussed current issues of cooperation related to the proper implementation of border, customs and phytosanitary supervision in border areas, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan reported.
During the meeting, the parties agreed to strengthen the work of the Ymamnazar - Akina checkpoint, taking into account the sanitary and epidemiological requirements. Issues of expanding humanitarian cooperation were discussed.
The Afghan side welcomed the friendly gesture of the Turkmen neighbors to provide the necessary medical equipment.
