In the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan the meeting with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan Mahmood Qureshi took place.
During the talks the sides exchanged opinions on a wide spectrum of bilateral cooperation. The importance of such large regional projects as the gas pipeline Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI), building of a high-voltage transmission line on the route Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan (TAP) and support of their realisation by official Islamabad in the future, informs the press-service of the Turkmen foreign policy department, was underlined.
The special accent during the meeting was made on intensification of contacts in the context of development of the situation in Afghanistan. Thereupon diplomats confirmed interest of Turkmenistan and Pakistan in the internal political stability and security of Afghanistan, well-being of Afghan people.
Members of delegations supported an establishment of regional dialogue taking into account the past experience of two countries. Thus, the Turkmen party stated its firm adherence to neutrality principles in the process of processes of regional contacts on Afghanistan.
