School Olympiads: when learning is even more interesting
School district Olympiads among students of 9-11 grades were held in Turkmenistan on January 18-30, 2021. The annual educational marathon is aimed at creation conditions for supporting and developing the intellectual abilities of schoolchildren, increasing their interest in in-depth study of Mathematics, Humanities and Natural Sciences. The Olympiads were held in the following disciplines: Turkmen, Russian, English, algebra, biology, chemistry, history, geography and informatics. The data received from all regions of Turkmenistan shows, the Olympiad in Turkmen has brought together some 7,648 students (552 of them passed it), the Olympiad in Russian – 379 schoolchildren (115 passed it), and the Olympiad in English – 7,608 secondary school students, 727 students out of which have been successful. Out of total students participated in the Olympiad in Turkmen, 2,233 schoolchildren were from the city of Mary, including 117 students who gained the positive score. Out of 136 metropolitan students participated in the Olympiad in Russian, there are 39 winners. Out of total students participated in the Olympiad in English, 2,236 participants were from Mary, including 117 leaders. The winners of each round of school district Olympiads were awarded with diplomas on behalf of the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan. All expenses related to the preparation and participation in the Olympiads of students who won the national stages of international school Olympiads are covered by the state budget of Turkmenistan.
