The delegation of Turkmenistan took part in the Doha meeting on reconciliation in Afghanistan


The delegation of Turkmenistan, headed by Deputy Foreign Minister Vepa Khadzhiev, took part in a new round of talks on Afghanistan in the capital of Qatar - Doha.
Participants of the three-day conference of the meeting, including representatives of the UN, the European Union, the United States, Great Britain, Russia, Pakistan, China and Uzbekistan, note the need to accelerate the peace process in Afghanistan. The delegates affirm their readiness to continue to promote constructive measures to achieve an acceptable and realistic political settlement in the IRA.

Speaking at the meeting, Dr. Abdullah Abdullah, who represents Afghanistan in this dialogue, "stressed the need to start constructive and sincere negotiations to establish an immediate cease-fire and reach a political agreement."
"The Chairman of the Supreme Council for Reconciliation called on the international community, especially, the Troika member countries, to take serious measures to prevent Taliban attacks on cities that have led to war crimes, massive human rights violations and a humanitarian catastrophe," the Afghan Foreign Ministry said.
