Rahmon invites Berdimuhamedov to be Guest of Honor at SCO summit
Tajik President Emomali Rahmon has invited Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov to attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Jubilee Summit as the Guest of Honor of the Chairman.
"I warmly invite you, dear Gurbanguly Berdimuhammedov, to take part in this important political event together with the leaders of the SCO member states," the head of Tajikistan said in an official statement issued today.
The summit will be held on September 16-17 in Dushanbe under the chairmanship of Rahmon. This year, the SCO celebrates its 20th anniversary, and Tajikistan is presiding over the organization.
A letter from the President of the Republic of Tajikistan to the Turkmen leader in connection with the high level of organization of the state visit of the RT delegation to Turkmenistan was also published today.
“Your efforts to organize the next Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia and to saturate its contents with important regional events are commendable,” Rahmon said in a letter.
