Guterres: I look forward to the active participation of Turkmenistan in ensuring peace
“The only lesson from recent years is that we can only solve our biggest problems by uniting. The COVID-19 pandemic is the latest example of our common vulnerability and the need for multilateral action to restore confidence,” - these are the words from a letter from UN Secretary General António Guterres to the President of Turkmenistan.
In his reply message, Guterres thanked Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov for the congratulations on his re-appointment as head of the UN and stressed his determination to work together to promote the values of the Organization in this dangerous and promising time.
“I am convinced that we can and must do much more to address the global problem, overcome differences, eliminate inequality and heal our planet,” said Guterres.
“I look forward to the active participation and contribution of your country in helping to strengthen the United Nations and further joint efforts to ensure peace, sustainable development and human rights for all,” the UN Secretary General's message reads.
