Turkmenistan and Tajikistan intensify transport and transit links
The issue of the introduction of simplifications for land transportation of goods to and from Tajikistan through the territory of Turkmenistan will be worked out by the relevant departments. Such an order was voiced by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov during negotiations with his Tajik counterpart Emomali Rahmon, it was reported in the evening news release of the Turkmen State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company.
Also at the summit, the topic of establishing direct or transit air communication between Turkmenistan and Tajikistan was touched upon.
– “We are interested in restoring and building up international cargo transportation by road and rail through Turkmenistan,” said Emomali Rahmon, also expressing satisfaction with the agreement on the launch of flights between the two states.
