Turkmenistan hosts meetings with delegations of Central Asian countries on the eve of the summit of heads of state of the region


Negotiations with official delegations of Central Asian countries are underway in Turkmenistan ahead of the Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of the region in Avaza.
An Uzbek delegation headed by Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan Serdor Umurzakov arrived in Turkmenistan on a working visit. He held meetings with Deputy Chairmen of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, Rashid Meredov, Chary Gylydzhov and Esenmyrat Orazgeldiev.
At the talks, the sides considered the possibilities of building up partnerships between the countries in the trade, economic, transport and fuel and energy spheres, and noted the interest in expanding contacts between the business circles of neighboring countries. The legal framework of cooperation was analyzed.
The parties paid special attention to the activation of transport and transit communication between Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan, as well as the strengthening of energy and industrial cooperation, including in the petrochemical industry.
Minister of Industry and New Technologies of Tajikistan Sherali Kabir also arrived in Turkmenistan on a visit. At a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov, the parties discussed the development of cooperation in the field of industry.
