Young champions: You can always find time for go in for sports!

Recently, at the First Open Central Asia Fencing Confederation Championship Junior/Cadets, a 16-year old Turkmen athlete Jumanazar Dovletnazarov won the gold medal. ORIENT talked to the champion, while his impressions of victory were still fresh. The winner notes that the final match with Uzbek opponent Mirzoulugbek Muminov was the most difficult one on his way to victory.
“I led the score from the very beginning, but there were moments when the initiative with dangerous attacks was at opponent’s side. He is experienced and formidable athlete who wants to win. When both athletes have equal opportunities, the only thing you can do is to prevail in tactics.
At the first day of the Confederation Championship, I lost a few matches. I must have not had enough time to get used the unusual conditions. But later I analyzed mistakes both my own and opponents, and made up the tactical plan of the fight in my head,” Jumanazar said.
As he says, he came to the fencing section, inspired by adventure films about the times when the sword was the main weapon of a brave man. So, the coach Tatyana Yermolayeva received another student who dreamed to become a noble knight.
“In Tashkent, I did my best not to disappoint my coach, to justify all her efforts invested in me. I managed to please Tatyana Rizayevna,” our hero says with pride. “This is my second gold medal after the international fencing tournament “Blades of Alatau 2017” in Almaty. The next goal is to win a medal at the Asian Junior/Cadet Fencing Championship in Jordan”.
“The Turkmen national team will have serious competitors from Japan, Korea and Kazakhstan. If you set a goal, you should go to the end. We will fight!” Jumanazar assured us and added:
“Now I cannot imagine my life without fencing, after school I hurry for coathing. In general, I believe that wherever you are, whatever you do, you can always find time for go in for sports.”
