Kyrgyzstan hosts Asian Chess Championship among disabled

Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan, hosts the first Chess Championship of Asia among persons with disabilities from 15 to 21 September. According to the State Agency for Youth, Physical Culture and Sports, the representatives of 10 countries of Asia - Afghanistan, Bhutan, Iran, India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Pakistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and one oceanic nation – Australia will compete in this kind intellectual of sports. The motto of the event is “Equal opportunities of fair society”. The organizers are the Chess Federation of Kyrgyzstan, Directorate for Non-Olympic Sports and Chess and Draughts Association. More than 100 players with full and partial hearing and vision loss, as well as persons with musculoskeletal injuries and disorders participate in the competition. Seven tournaments are held among three age groups - children over 12 years old, youth under 18 and adults over 18, contest in the discipline "Classical Chess". During the closing ceremony of Championship on 21 September the winners will be awarded prizes and gifts.
