Ashgabat discusses joint development of a field in the Caspian Sea with Azerbaijan


The meeting of the Turkmen-Azerbaijani working group on the implementation of the intergovernmental Memorandum of Understanding on joint exploration and development of the Caspian hydrocarbon field Dostluk is being held in Ashgabat.

Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Joint Exploration, Development of the Dostluk Hydrocarbon Field in the Caspian Sea on January 21, 2021.

At the International Forum on Attracting Investments in the Oil and Gas Sector of Turkmenistan, held in Ashgabat in May, it was noted that the development of the Dostluk field will open up new opportunities for the country to export natural gas to the west.

Earlier ORIENT reported that the Russian oil company “Lukoil” is ready to become the operator of the Turkmen-Azerbaijani Dostluk field.
