The rivals of the women’s national team of Turkmenistan in 3x3 basketball at the 6th FIBA 3x3 World Cup 2019, which to be held in Amsterdam, Netherlands, on June 18-23, are defined. Turkmen women’ basketball players will perform in A Group along with the teams of China, the Netherlands, Hungary and Latvia. “The competitors in the group are highly experienced, who have already became the winners of the world’s tournaments,” representatives of the Basketball Federation of Turkmenistan comment. “The host Dutch team is a silver medalist of the European Cup 2018, the Hungarians are the champions of Europe 2016, and the Chinese are the semifinalists of the last year’s World Cup. Therefore, the Turkmen team comprised of Ayna Gokova, Nigara Nagiyeva, Leyla Halilova and Anastasia Hydyrova should demonstrate the maximum of their capabilities.” The current holders of the Cup – the national team of Italy – would have not an easy way also. They will compete in the same group with the World Champions 2017 Russian women team, as well as the winners of the 2016 Championship – the team of Ukraine. At the FIBA 3x3 World Cup 2019, total 40 teams – 20 Men’s and 20 Women’s – will participate. Only two teams from each group will reach the quarterfinals, and the winners of the competition will be have a right to participate in the qualifying tournament for the 2020Tokyo Olympic Games. In March, the women's team of Turkmenistan will hold two overseas training sessions – in Azerbaijan and Lithuania, - and after go to an international tournament in France.
