A high yield of potato In Turkmenistan


Within the harvesting camping of vegetables starting in Turkmenistan in early July in the fields an average yield of potato has made up 180 centners per hectare, as writes today the official Turkmen press.
It is a high indicator for the regional countries. According to the Food and Agricultural Organisation of the United Nations, the average yield of potato in the countries of Asia and Oceania makes up about 150 centners per hectare.
By the state order in Turkmenistan about 13 thousand 300 hectares of land have been sown with potato. About 6 thousand hectares of land have been sown with onion, one more strategic crop.
The average capacity of onion in the country has made up 250 centners per hectare.
The given statistics considers only that crop which is grown by the state order. Simultaneously with it in Turkmenistan the private sector is also engaged in production of potato and onions.
