The private sector showed good performance in the first half of 2021

At the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov repeatedly addressed the issues of the participation of Turkmen business in the development of the national economy.
In particular, he noted that the volume of investments continues to grow both in the public and private sectors. At the same time, the Turkmen leader noted a positive trend in the increase in the share of the business sector in the economy, along with a decrease in the role played by the state in it.
The main instruments of the privatization process, as President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized, should be open auctions and the stock market. At the same time, enterprises of the transport, communication, energy and infrastructure spheres were named among the objects subject to denationalization.
The head of the Turkmen State Statistics Committee Silap Velbegov, in turn, reported that good indicators have been achieved in the private sector of the national economy, as well as in the industrial, agro-industrial and transport-communication sectors.

The head of state instructed Deputy Prime Minister Chary Gylydzhov to keep in the focus of attention the issues of supporting entrepreneurship from both the financial and material and technical sides, as well as the introduction of digital systems into the trade sphere.
The Turkmen leader instructed to use the existing production facilities more productively, as well as build new ones in order to provide the domestic market with goods and services, increase, on the one hand, export-oriented products, and on the other-reduce imports. The head of state set the task of more actively cooperating with foreign partners, studying the conjuncture of international markets and analyzing their trends.
To solve these problems, the President of Turkmenistan instructed Deputy Prime Minister Serdar Berdimuhamedov to assist entrepreneurs in registering land plots for the production of agricultural products, and also instructed to increase the number of enterprises in the private sector for the production of organic food in order to ensure food security.
As an important area of activity, the new deputy chairman was instructed to analyze prices on world markets and, taking this into account, to conduct a pricing policy for goods exported by Turkmenistan, as well as to make information on prices, quality and other parameters of products produced in the country available to local buyers and foreign partners using digital systems.
To implement these and other tasks, the Turkmen leader instructed Serdar Berdimuhamedov to develop and present at a government meeting a draft program for the next five years on increase of the production of export-oriented and import-substituting products.
The head of state instructed the newly appointed Deputy Prime Minister Charymyrat Purchekov, together with Deputy Prime Minister Chary Gylydzhov, to more actively involve the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs in the large-scale construction of villages and settlements, new factories for the production of mineral fertilizers, as well as the production of building materials from local raw materials, reconstruction of automobile roads, etc.
