Significant increase in the production and export of polyethylene was recorded in Turkmenistan

For 10 months of 2020, Turkmenistan increased the total value of export supplies of polyethylene by 49.4%, as compared to the same period last year. The relevant data are provided by the country’s State Committee on Statistics. The well-demanded on the world market polymer is produced at the largest gas chemical complex in Central Asia in the village of Kiyanly, Balkan Region. The production capacity of this facility allows for the production of 386 thousand tons of high density polyethylene a year. Polyethylene production in January-November 2020 increased by 110.1%, as compared to the same period last year. The stable growth in the production of this polymer allows Turkmenistan to systematically increase its export. Polyethylene has become one of the key high value-added export commodities produced in Turkmenistan. The production of this polymer is streamlined along with such products as polypropylene, urea, environmentally friendly gasoline from natural gas, etc. Altogether, these ensure the diversification of Turkmen exports and stable growth of the national economy.
