IEA marks the fall of the prices for gasoline in the world in 2020 - where it is cheaper?

In 2020 the world price of gasoline per litre made up 0, 81 US dollars for litre that is by 11 % less than last year. The data testifies to the new statistics report of the International Energy Agency (IEA).
Decrease occurred basically because of sharp fall of prices of crude oil in the first half of 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic. Price levels in the different countries strongly differed: from 0, 32 US dollars per litre in Iran to more than six times above this sum in Hong Kong (2, 01 US dollars per litre).
The difference in the prices speaks of many factors, but it is necessary to note that the first is the exporter of crude oil, and the second - the country-importer with a great demand and more heavy taxes.

As a whole, the price of gasoline correlates with the price for oil, but expenses for processing, transportation, marketing and taxes do gasoline much more expensively oil, analysts add. However in some countries such correlation is not present because of rigid price control over fuel.
Among the countries with the low prices for gasoline, besides Iran, on the map of IEA are also Algeria (0, 35 dollars per litre), Nigeria and Malaysia (0, 4 dollars per litre), Saudi Arabia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan (0, 42 US dollars per litre), Turkmenistan (0, 43 US dollars per litre) and Indonesia (0, 46 US dollars per litre).
The USA and Russia are in the middle of the table with 0, 68 and 0, 64 dollars per litre concerning 2020.
The highest prices for gasoline last year were fixed in the countries of Europe, especially in the western part of the region where the litre practically everywhere costs more than 1, 40 dollars. And the highest price in the Netherlands - 1, 78 dollars per litre.
