Children of Asia: Closing Ceremony of Winter International Sports Games was held

On February 16, last sets of medals have been contested in the final competition day of the 1st Children of Asia Winter International Sports Games. Later in the evening, Spartak Stadium of Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk hosted the official closing ceremony of the Children of Asia Games.Viktor KARDASHOV
Before the start of the farewell celebrations, Vyacheslav Fetisov, Deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Physical Culture, Sports, Tourism and Youth Affairs, who came to Sakhalin to take part in the awards ceremony of the Children of Asia 2019 hokkey tournament, addressed to participants. The legendary hockey player answered the questions of the media representatives and shared his impressions on organization of these large-scale children’s competitions.
Governor of Sakhalin Region Valery Limarenko in his speech told about preparations for the sports forum and course of the competition.
The closing ceremony of the Children of Asia Games started at 19.00 local time. The show started with spectacular performance of a drummer girls group; “glowing robots” number followed it.
The anthem of the Russian Federation was sounded, after which the gala parade of the teams – participants of the competitions – began. Representatives of all the countries participating in the games as a single column passed the arena and took places in the stands.
Modern artists, bands and talented young singers took part in effective show, which lasted for 50 minutes. Grandiose firework, which lit up the sky of Sakhalin, has marked official closing of winter games.
At the 1st Children of Asia Winter International Sports Games, Turkmenistan was represented in ice-hockey (boys team) and figure skating (girls).
The results of the competitions give a hope that experience gained in games with more skilled teams will help our young athletes to make deserving competition in future and to be among prizewinners at various international tournaments.
