Folding smartphones will set a trend
Folding smartphones this year will set a trend as more and more manufacturers make active steps to this direction. It is attempt of the market of smartphones to stimulate sales which have fallen because of the pandemic COVID-19.
South Korean company Samsung last year occupied 88 % of the market of folding smartphones from the point of view of deliveries of panels. This year from Samsung is expected to present at least three kinds of foldable devices.
In February, 2020 the technological giant presented device Galaxy Z Flip in which vertically combined screen and a retro-flip-design is used, and in September - Galaxy Z Fold 2. They became best sellers last year both in relation to the unit of production and incomes.
The Chinese manufacturer of smartphones Huawei Technologies Co presented Mate Xs - the smartphone with the foldable screen.
According to the analytical report of company Strategy Analytics which are engaged in researches of the market, by 2025 global deliveries of folding smartphones will grow to 100 million units. Foldable devices will be the most fast-growing segment in the market of smartphones in the next decade.
The price for them, possibly, also will fall, as the large companies engaged in manufacture of screen panels have increased their capacities.
