Five more Turkmen universities will be put on a self-supporting basis
Starting from the 2021-2022 academic year, it is planned to put five more Turkmen universities on a self-supporting basis. Deputy Prime Minister Gadyrgeldi Mushshikov reported to President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on the work ongoing in this area at the Cabinet meeting on Friday, the official Turkmen press has reported today.
By putting on a self-supporting basis, the Government intends to improve the financial and economic conditions of the Turkmen State Institute of Economics and Management, the Oguz Han Engineering and Technological University, the Turkmen State Institute of Architecture and Construction, the Turkmen State Institute of Finance and the Yagshygeldi Kakaev International University of Oil and Gas.
It was reported in May this year on putting on a self-supporting basis of the International University for the Humanities and Development and the Institute of Telecommunications and Informatics. In June, it became known about putting on a self-supporting basis of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
Putting domestic universities on a self-supporting basis will also contribute to their international accreditation, the establishment of international academic activities for students and the faculty.
