In January-November 2020, Turkmen farmers increased production of the main types of crop production by more than 10% compared to the same period last year. The country’s State Statistics Committee published data on this. Vegetables in the country were grown and harvested by 10.6% more than in 2019. The largest growth occurred in the Lebap region, where farmers grew 18.3% more vegetables. Melon crops in Turkmenistan in 2020 were gathered by 13.3% more than in 2019. The largest growth again occurred in the Lebap region. There, farmers increased production by 38.1%. Fruits and berries in Turkmenistan last year were harvested by 11.5% more than in 2019. Most of them were grown in the Dashoguz region of the country – rate of increase was 18.6%. The increase in crop production occurs against the background of the development of processing enterprises in Turkmenistan, which produce domestic vegetable and fruit purees, juices, canned food, etc.
