Speaker of the Russian parliament is an honorary citizen of the Turkmen capital
Today President Berdymuhamedov, has met with the Chairman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matvienko and, having exchanged views on bilateral cooperation, presented her a certificate of a Honorary Citizen of the city of Ashgabat. The Turkmen Leader highly valued Valentina Ivanovna's achievements in the development of multifold relations between Turkmenistan and Russia, and emphasized her great personal contribution to strengthening the friendship of the two countries. Thanking for the rendered supreme honor, the Chairman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation told, that she was very pleased to become an honorary citizen of Ashgabat, as it indeed is a beautiful city that in recent years has earned the reputation of a large peacekeeping center.
