Silver and bronze medals of the Turkmen Paralympic athletes at the Para Powerlifting World Cup in Dubai


Turkmen Paralympic athletes Sergey Meladze and Mayagozel Ekeeva continue a series of successful performances at international tournaments.
At the 10th Fazza Para Powerlifting World Cup in Dubai, which started on February 8, Mayagozel Ekeeva won a silver medal in the weight category up to 79 kg, losing only one point to the athlete from Egypt. Mayagozel raised the barbell of 106 kg.
Another powerlifter from Turkmenistan – Master of sports of international class Sergey Meladze – won a bronze medal in the weight category up to 72 kg. He lifted a barbell of 175 kg. The athlete from Iran Rasul Mohsin was the best in this discipline.
Last year, at the World Series of Powerlifting World Cup finals held in UAE, Mayagozel Ekeeva took the highest step of the victory podium, being awarded the gold medal, and Sergey Meladze became the silver medalist of the tournament.
Last December, both Turkmen Paralympic athletes won gold medals at the 2018 World Para Powerlifting Americas Open Championships in Bogota, the capital of Colombia.
