Bicycling in London’s Hyde Park: for clean transport and health
The Embassy of Turkmenistan to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland has organized a bicycling this week in Hyde Park, one of the largest parks in London, to celebrate World Bicycle Day.
The event was attended by the embassy staff and Turkmen students studying in the UK, as well as representatives of the Turkmen diaspora and local residents.
Before the 10 km ride, the participants’ attention was drawn to the importance of celebrating World Bicycle Day at all levels and promoting the values enshrined in this idea, as called for by a resolution which was adopted by the UN General Assembly on the initiative of Turkmenistan in 2018, and highlighting the benefits of a simple, affordable, environmentally friendly type of transport that strengthens both physical and mental health of a person.
