EBRD is ready to support new projects of entrepreneurs in Turkmenistan in the field of greenhouse facilities

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development considers investments in the development of greenhouse facilities in Turkmenistan as one of the priority areas of its work.
This was said by head of the EBRD representative office in Turkmenistan Fatih Turkmenoglu at the opening of an online seminar on the promotion of greenhouse technologies in Turkmenistan, organized by the bank jointly with the European Union.
Investments in greenhouse facilities are in line with the EBRD’s ultimate goal in Turkmenistan to expand the country’s export potential, reduce imports and create additional jobs, Turkmenoglu highlighted.

EU Ambassador to Turkmenistan Diego Alonso Ruiz, who attended the event, in turn, said that agriculture is a sector that suggests great employment opportunities in rural areas.
He pointed out that agricultural activities in the country are very important for socio-economic development, and greenhouses expand the opportunities for entrepreneurs to fulfill the potential of the agro-industrial complex.
For this reason, the EU views investment in the development of greenhouse facilities in Turkmenistan as a contribution to society, reducing the gap between urban and rural areas.
As part of the online seminar, the UIET members have been acquainted with the experience of European experts in the field of greenhouse facilities and got individual consultations that will help them develop a business.
