Governors of frontier provinces of Turkmenistan and Afghanistan discussed cooperation


Heads of frontier regions of Turkmenistan and Afghanistan held a video meeting on Thursday. The Afghan side was represented by governors of provinces of Herat, Badghiz, Jozjan and Faryab. Turkmen - heads of administrations of Mary and Lebap regions.
Participants of the meeting discussed advancement of civil-engineering designs of TAPI gas pipeline, TAP power transmission and fibre-optical communication lines, the railway line Turgundi-Herat, informs the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

Interlocutors also agreed plans on cooperation between the regional authorities of frontier territories, covering issues on trade and economic and cultural interaction.
The Afghan governors suggested to open the branch of one of the Afghani banks in the frontier area of Turkmenistan and to hold an exhibition of dried fruits for expansion of commercial relations.
