Ashgabat City project: Turkmenistan is interested in “digital” experience of Tatarstan

Turkmenistan is interested in the experience of Tatarstan in digitalization of the administrative sphere, housing and communal services, as President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov mentioned at a meeting with the leader of the republic Rustam Minnikhanov.
This experience can be applied in the implementation of the Ashgabat City smart city project, the construction of which is planned to start next week in the north of the Turkmen capital, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said.
Members of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs are involved in the implementation of this mega-project, which was developed taking into account the use of future technologies.
Minnikhanov said that Tatarstan is ready to work with Turkmenistan further in all spheres.
As it was emphasized in the framework of the expanded negotiations, the trade turnover between the parties at the end of 2020 amounted to 107 million US dollars. The bulk of Turkmen exports to Tatarstan is made up of plastic products and vegetables, and Tatarstan's exports to Turkmenistan are overland transport.
The President of Turkmenistan also noted that official Ashgabat intends to expand cooperation through KAMAZ. This year the contract for the supply of 1,982 units of special equipment of this brand to Turkmenistan expires. The last batch of 189 vehicles is planned to be shipped by August this year.
At the talks, Turkmenistan and the Republic of Tatarstan agreed on the need to increase the volume of trade.
