CHILDREN OF ASIA - 2019: THE SELECTION PROCESS OF HOCKEY TOURNAMENT TOOK PLACE

At the first Winter International Sports Games “Children of Asia”, which will be held in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk from February 8 to February 17, 2019, the toss-up of the hockey tournament, which brought together 9 youth teams, took place. The ice squad of Turkmenistan consisting of 22 athletes, pupils of 7-9 grades of schools of Ashgabat and Ahal velayat, took a place in group “B”, together with teams of the Ural Federal District, the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) and Kazakhstan. Group A includes teams from the Siberian and Far Eastern Federal Districts, Japan, Kuwait and Sakhalin Oblast.Victor Kardashov
Turkmen hockey players arriving on Sakhalin on February 8 are waiting for training to acclimatize on the same day, and then the next day at 10:00, representatives of the Siberian and Ural federal districts will meet on the ice of the Arena City sports complex in the first bout of the hockey tournament.
Winners and prize winners will be determined on the last day of the Games - February 16th.
In total, during the first winter MCI "Children of Asia", competitions are planned in 8 kinds of sports:
- figure skating
- hockey
- short track
- skiing
- snowboard
- biathlon
- ski race
- ski jumping.
The national team of Turkmenistan is represented in two disciplines - ice hockey and figure skating competitions, which will begin on February 13 in single skating among girls.
