Turkmenistan co-founded the Central Asian Confederation of Fencing

The Confederation of Central Asian Fencing is registered in Uzbekistan, of which Turkmenistan was one of the founders.
The main goal of this international sports structure, which united the national federations of Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Afghanistan, is to improve and popularize this sport in the Central Asian countries, as well as to increase the level of skill of fencers.
Within the framework of the Confederation, national specialized organizations intend to intensify cooperation with the International Fencing Federation (FIE).
Interacting in the new structure, representatives of federations of states-founders plan to organize regional championships among athletes of different age categories, hold joint training sessions, as well as coaching and referee seminars. For example, on February 15-17, the Central Asian Championship among juniors and cadets will be held in the Uzbek capital, in May there will be adult competitions.
The initiative to create this association was launched in November 2018 at a meeting of the heads of the fencing federations of Central Asia in Tashkent. Later, at the FIE Congress in December, the parties signed the relevant legal documents on the creation of a regional union.
Rustam Shaabdurakhmanov, chairman of the Fencing Federation of Uzbekistan, was elected President of the Confederation. The headquarters of the organization is located in Tashkent.
Now an international tender has been announced for the creation of the Confederation logo, which should contain both the basic elements of fencing and the symbols of the above countries.
It should be noted that such associations have already demonstrated their effectiveness in the countries of East Asia - Japan, and the Republic of Korea - whose fencers are among the strongest in the world.
