Turkmenistan Cycling Federation will hold the first national school Olympics
The Cycling Federation of Turkmenistan intends to coincide with the World Bicycle Day for the final of the first national school sports contest in the individual and group race.
Competitions will be held in several stages, first at the regional level of the country. The best racers from all over the country, who have passed all the stages with dignity, will meet in the finals of the tournament to be held on June 3 in Ashgabat. In the future, they will be able to qualify for participation in national championships in various cycling disciplines.
Cooperation with the International Cycling Federation (UCI) and relevant organizations of neighboring countries - Iran, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan - for joint activities is being intensified.
In 2021, Turkmenistan will host the World Track Cycling Championship, which will be held in the Olympic town of the Turkmen capital. This decision was made on September 28, 2018 at the Congress of the International Cycling Federation in the Austrian city of Innsbruck. It is expected that about three hundred athletes from more than 40 countries will gather in Ashgabat.
The bicycle track of the Ashgabat Olympic town is recognized as the best in the region, it is built using high-tech materials to the latest standards for such facilities, which also creates conditions for setting new world records.
In addition to various international competitions, the calendar of Turkmen cyclists includes numerous fees at home and abroad. For example, negotiations are under way to organize training sessions for the Turkmen team in St. Petersburg.
Among the most successful athletes who head the rating of cyclists of Turkmenistan and will form the backbone of the national team at international competitions are Rovshan Bayramov, Akmurat Hodjaguliyev, Saylav Gylydzhov, Atajan Hodzhageldiev, Daniel Alyoshin and others.
One of the most important things for excellent training and technique of the cyclist is the professionalism of the coach. In August last year, UCI experts conducted a training seminar for Turkmen coaches, who familiarized themselves with the most successful methods from foreign colleagues.
