Young tennis players from Turkmenistan will take part in the Asian Championship
Young athletes from Turkmenistan will perform at the Asian Tennis Championships for boys and girls under age of 14, which will be held from 7 to 18 January in the Thai city of Nonthaburi. Five Turkmen tennis players will compete for the champion title - debutant of international competitions Selim Pirdzhikov, Iskandar Myradov, Anastasia Azimbaeva, Ogultach Urazakhatova and Kakadzhan Bayramgeldiev. Accompanying players to the upcoming competitions will be a young and promising coach from the Mary region, candidate master of sports Andrei Dovmatov. According to the National Tennis Federation, the participation of Turkmen juniors in this major international tournament will give her a competitive experience in performing at world tennis courts. As part of raising the level of physical fitness of athletes in December 2018, members of the Turkmenistan national tennis team passed training sessions in Tashkent. In 2019, Turkmenistan will host the Central Asian Tennis Championship among children under age of 12.
