China and Central Asia celebrated the New Year with a grandiose TV party


The artist delegations from six countries - China, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan - marked the coming new year in joint show program "Flying songs of the Silk Road" in the Chinese city of Lianyungang.
The evening opened with the Chinese folk song "Jasmine", which has a history of about three centuries. The vocal performance was accompanied by a dance, subtly demonstrating the charm of Chinese folklore.
The party consisted of three thematic departments: "Seeking the Millennium", "Feelings of Central Asia" and "Dream of the Silk Road". Each turn was a combination of excellent artistic performance of ensembles and fascinating colorful special effects, so that the audience during one evening could feel the centuries-old history of the development of humanitarian and economic cooperation between the six countries.
The storm of applause met Turkmen, Kazakh, Kyrgyz, Uzbek, Tajik folk songs, the words of which did not even need translation. The performance, held in a warm atmosphere of mutual understanding and friendship, has become a unique opportunity for international communication in the language of music, dance, song and opera.
The PRC’s national and regional TV channels as well as on the social network WeChat broadcasted the event, which will be broadcasted in Central Asian countries in January 2019 during the celebration of the Chinese new year.
The concert program was organized thanks to the close coordination and partnership of the Department of arts of the Ministry of culture of China, administration of Jiangsu province, international television of China, national TV and radio channels of Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan.
According to the agreement between the six countries, in 2019-2024 every year representatives of the art sphere will meet in one of the countries to hold gala concerts under the slogan "Silk road welcomes the New Year", designed to become a kind of hallmark of cultural exchange between the peoples of China and Central Asia. The next show will be hosted by Kazakhstan.
