Yulduz Dzhumabaeva - bronze medalist of the Qatar Cup in weightlifting
Weight lifter from Turkmenistan Yulduz Jumabayeva (49 kg) won the bronze medal in the “push” discipline at the 5th Qatar International Cup, which is an Olympic qualifying competition. In total, in the biathlon the girl lifted 175 kg (75 kg in the snatch and 100 kg in the push), thereby taking the 5th place in her weight category. At the World Weightlifting Championships held in Ashgabat in November 2018, Yulduz won two silver and one bronze medals. At the same time, the athlete set two junior world records - in the jerk and in terms of the amount of weight lifted. Kristina Shermetova (55 kg), Rejepbai Redzhepov (81 kg) and Hojamuhammet Toichiev (+109 kg) also went to the capital of Qatar with the young "star" of the Turkmen weightlifting. For Turkmen athletes, the competition in Doha is an additional opportunity to score points in the individual standings for the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo.
