Top-leadership of Afghanistan to encourage national team at inauguration ceremony of “Ashgabat 2017”

President Ashraf Ghani of Afghanistan and Chief Executive Abdullah Abdullah will attend the opening ceremony of the 5th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games in Ashgabat, to be held at Ashgabat Olympic Village at the end of this week, the TOLOnews reports. According to officials from the National Olympic Committee of Afghanistan, the personal presence of the leaders will stiffen the competitive spirit of the national team and stimulate the athletes to achieve champion heights in the upcoming Asian Games. Afghanistan’s contingent of 215 athletes will compete for medals in 15 sports. According to the technical manager of the team Ghulam Rabbani Rabbani, this year the government promised to award the gold champions with a cash prize of $ 10,000, silver - $ 5,000 and bronze - $ 3,000. Over 20 heads of state, as well as the President of the Olympic Council of Asia Ahmed Al-Fahad Al-Ahmed Al-Sabah, will visit the Turkmen capital for the opening Ashgabat 2017, informs insidethegames.biz, a popular portal covering the events of the Olympic movement and sports.
