The journalists made this conclusion on the basis of reports of China's oil and gas companies that are observing the improvement of the environmental situation in the country due to the increased use of natural gas in production.
Natural gas, as one of the most environmentally friendly "classical" types of energy, allocates 50% less carbon dioxide than coal, which was previously the main fuel for Chinese industrial clusters. Given the scale of production in the Middle Kingdom, tons of coal burned were very detrimental to the environment.
Coal was also used to heat most of the northern cities of the PRC. Thanks to the new policy of the Chinese government, this practice is a thing of the past, and gas heating comes to replace it.
According to Bloomberg Intelligence analysts' reports, alternative energy sources will not be sufficient to provide Chinese production in the next 30 years, but the amount of electricity generated by gas in China will increase steadily, providing an improvement in the environmental situation in the country.
According to the Research Institute of Economics and Technology of the CNPC, in January-September 2017, the consumption of natural gas in China reached 167.6 billion cubic meters. m, which is 16.6% more than in the same period last year. At the same time, more than 40 billion cubic meters of natural gas in the Middle Kingdom is exported by Turkmenistan. With the opening of a new branch "D" of the Turkmenistan-China gas pipeline, the export of blue fuel from our country to China will increase to 65 billion cubic meters of gas per year.
