Young engineers from Germany to invent a five-seat flying taxi
The start-up company Lilium, established last year by young engineers and specialists from the Munich University of Technology, is going on to launch the project of the five-seat flying taxi Lilium Jet, to be premiered 2019.
The inventors have already found investors who are ready to sponsor this revolutionary idea in the transport world. Among them are the Chinese holding Tencent, British investor Atomico, Obvious Ventures (USA), international banking group LGT.
The top management of the Lilium company have already announced a number of advantages of the future innovation.
The double-winged craft with vertical take-off and landing will be able to reach speeds of up to 300 kilometers per hour. Ultra-low noise performance of an electric turbofan engines means minimal harmful noise impact and zero level emissions into the atmosphere of the city. Such a taxi can be called through a special application in mobile phone.
And the most attractive feature in that, the passengers will get to the necessary destination five times faster as compared with car analogue, and will avoid the eternal traffic jams. Along with comfort, the panoramic view promises the client aesthetic pleasure.
Еру technologists of the aviation company have already assembled and successfully tested April this year in Bavaria double-seat version of Lilium Jet.
