More than 200 young artists present their best works at the SAFAT site.

The gallery of the State Academy of Fine Arts of Turkmenistan hosts a competitive exhibition of student works - young painters, sculptors, graphic artists, ceramics, etc.
Such a competition has been held at the Academy for the third year in a row, and its main goal is to stimulate the creative search for young people, to support their desire for excellence and dialogue with the audience through artistic expression and perception.
Over two hundred young authors acquaint visitors of the exhibition with their best works, each of which glows with a creative personality, continues the traditions of Turkmen art and reflects the vision of its development.
“I often find scenes from the story, it has always been interesting to me,” says the 5th year student of the State Academy of Fine Art Zakirjan Babayev.
In his picture “The Treasure of the East”, he depicted the Italian traveler Marco Polo, who was looking at the Turkmen carpet during a brisk trade on the market, as there were many on the Silk Road, running through the ancient Turkmen.
- While working on this plot, I consulted with experienced historians both in terms of the architecture of buildings, and in relation to the clothing of the characters, of various details. I wanted to convey the spirit of the time, the very atmosphere of the oriental bazaar, he shares.
It was the work of Zakirjan that won an unconditional victory in a competition dedicated to the work of the outstanding artist Durdy Bayramov in April of this year.
The current show will last until the end of the month.
