Among the delegates of the 6th Turkmen-Russian Economic Forum that was held today was Alexander Agababov, Deputy Head of the Orel Region Government Representative Office under the Government of the Russian Federation. As Orient found out, Agababov was from Turkmenistan, or rather, he was born in Ashgabat. So we decided to ask him a few questions: - Tell me, please, what did you feel when you came to Ashgabat? - Words can not describe all those pleasant emotions that excited my soul. This is an amazing, warm feeling of connection with the earth itself ... An unforgettable experience. - Recently, in October, in the frame of official visit by the Russian Federation President Vladimir Putin to our country, an Agreement between the hakimlik of Mary (Turkmenistan) and an administrative body of the municipal formation “Orel City” (Russian Federation) for the establishment of twin-city relations between Mary city and Orel city was signed. In which areas do you see the potential for increasing contacts? - We have very good starting conditions, starting base, this is the foundation that was laid down since the Soviet era. And if there are such opportunities, then it is necessary to effectively use them across the spectrum. This is an increase in the volume of mutual trade, and humanitarian cooperation. We have many touches in culture and history.Myakhri BEKGADOVA
... I remember my childhood that was held in Ashgabat, my friends were Turkmen, Russian, Armenians and Georgians, representatives of other nationalities. We have never had any conflicts. Everyone lived like brothers, and we still continue to communicate. It was this spirit of brotherhood, the spirit of absolutely sincere friendship that the Turkmen land was always saturated with. And we must pay tribute to the country's leadership, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, for the fact that this spirit was fully embodied in the truly wise, balanced and far-sighted policy of the country.
The development and strengthening of multifaceted cooperation between our countries, in particular at the interregional level, will serve both nations.
Orel is a “student city”, where many Turkmen citizens also study. One can only express gratitude to your country for such educated students. It's nice to see how they observe their traditions, and at the same time respect the place where they are, the culture and customs of another people. Such a wonderful young generation leaves no doubt about Turkmenistan's excellent future, its further prosperity, and the development of fruitful relations with the Orel region and Russia.
