Powerlifters of Mary province are three-fold winners of the Cup of Turkmenistan
At the powerlifting competitions for the Cup of Turkmenistan that just completed in the city of Mary, the athletes of the southern region of the country won the cherished trophy for the third time. Powerlifters from Mary won the confident victory with a total of 202 points. Athletes from Ashgabat are at the second place (152 points), and powerlifters from Lebap province (131 points) are the last at the top three. The competitions, which gathered 96 athletes (37 women and 59 men) from different regions of the country, were held in 19 weight categories (9 Women weight categories, 10 Men weigh categories). The Cup of Turkmenistan has become rich in national records. Jenan Dovranov, who lifted a total of 672 kg in two combinations in the Men’s 93 kg, and Chary Annanazarov, who raised a total of 807 kg in the Men’s 120 kg, set the records.
