Today, the Turkmen Music and Drama Theater named after Makhtumkuli hosts the concert of the Italian singer Naim Abid and of the musicians Fabio Gorliere (piano), Ricardo Barbera (contrabass) and Folko Fedele (drums), who delighted the audience with wonderful songs from the world famous movies of the fifties. What would be better those soulful songs from old movies? Only songs from old films performed by Naim Abid – one of the most talented and full of charisma Italian crooner - singer, who “sing in a soft, low voice, especially in a sentimental manner” accompanied by musical instruments. A real show and a lively atmosphere of participation in the magic around was presented to Turkmen music fans. It hard to find other words to describe what happened on the stage: Naim Abid was joking, laughing, dancing with the audience and singing fascinatingly. Most of songs was well known to the audience, who sang along with the delighted musician: “… and we are together dancing cheek to cheek”, “… hit the road, Jack”, “… hey, mambo, mambo Italiano”. It is difficult to imagine such unity at any other concert! At the concert of the Italian crooner singer and, mostly, at the concert of Naim Abid, it happens always. “It is like an ocean,” explains the singer. “I give my energy to the hall, and it comes back to me like a wave”. In this regard, one cannot argue with the singer. So many people were assembled in the hall that the place was almost filled to suffocation. The musician shared his mood with the audience, so they sang along with him, applauded and voiced aloud “Bravo!” and “Grazie!” “Very Italian,” noted Naim at the end of the concert. “O Sarracino” by Renato Carosone was the final song of the concert, after which the audience gave the musicians a standing ovation. Nobody wanted to let the Italians performers go out of stage. As the Italian Ambassador to Turkmenistan Diego Ungaro said in his speech, it was pity that this concert was the final event of the one-year cultural program of the Italian diplomatic mission. The musicians were so touched that they promised to return to Turkmenistan and stay for a longer. Such statement caused the expected approval from the audience. Naim Abid, Fabio Gorlier, Ricardo Barbera and Folco Fedele were saw off the stage as the closest friends of Turkmen music lovers.Altyn ASHYROVA
