Jordan: bracelets for foreigners

Since July 4, Jordan began to put electronic bracelets on foreigners arriving in the kingdom to ensure compliance with home quarantine, media report. All citizens of other countries entering Jordan must stay for 14 days in hotels designated by the authorities on the shore of the Dead Sea, west of the country’s capital city of Amman. After that period, they have to be isolated on their own for another two weeks at home or in another hotel. Jordan has introduced tough measures, including curfew restrictions, and uses unmanned aerial vehicles to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Restrictive measures were partially eased in early June. Now 1147 cases of the disease have been recorded in the kingdom, including ten deaths. The country’s Ministry of Health almost daily reports new infections among the Jordanians and foreigners entering the country.
