President of Turkmenistan replaces Deputy Prime Minister for Culture
At the extended session of the Turkmen government, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov releived Bahargul Abdyeva of her post as Deputy Chairperson of the Cabinet of Ministers in charge of Culture and the Media due to the transfer to another job, a 9-o’clock evening news programme of the Turkmen TV said. Mahridjemal Mammedova, who who until recently worked as the Deputy Khyakim (Mayor) of Mary province, has been appointed Deputy Prime Minister to oversee the government’s cultural policy and the media. The head of state instructed the new official to maximize the use of the material and technical capabilities of the sphere of culture, information technology and telecommunications industries in the work of domestic media, as well as to pay special attention to training personnel in this area.
