Israeli startup Electreon Wireless will launch the first sections of motorways in Israel and Sweden that can charge electric vehicles. Pilot projects will be carried out as early as in August 2020, Business Insider writes. New technology is to solve the issue related to too long, almost five hours, recharging of electric vehicles. According to many experts, this problem is one of the main reasons limiting the expansion rate of this type of transport. The Swedish Government showed great interest in the project, having allocated a significant part of the funds for its implementation, the amount of which totals about 12 million US dollars. In Sweden, startup Electreon Wireless will re-equip a 4 km track on the Island of Gotland. The Israeli project is    a 2 km electrified pavement in the center of Tel Aviv. The company’s specialists note that 1 km of such a road can be equipped in just one night shift. The future business strategy of Electreon Wireless will focus on equipping electric buses and trucks with wireless recharging devices. The company believes that these types of vehicles have the greatest impact on the environment. The technology of electrified roads, in turn, will allow operating companies and departments to reduce costs.
